Behind The Scenes with The Bailey Brothers, England`s most bizarre team of dj`s & journalists that was very much part of forming the UK metal & hard rock scene. They helped launch Metal Hammer & MC`ed at Monsters of Rock. We did a Q&A with Mick

How are you doing?
I am doing fine, but I am so busy interviewing and being interviewed, but hey that’s Rock ‘n’ Roll

What are you doing these days?
Well apart from the above, I am in the process of putting a Bailey Brothers book together that covers 3 Decades of Rock.  We have a new studio being built as we speak.  A Bailey Brothers and Baileys Comet album in the pipe line.  We are also interviewing bands for their DVD’s, interviewing and reviewing bands for magazines and websites.  It’s just a roller coaster Rock ‘n’ Roll ride.

A normal day in the life of The Bailey Brothers?
My normal day will consist of me waking up to some music, cup of coffee before I do anything, then straight onto the computer preparing questions for interviews, sifting through new Cd’s and Dvd’s.  Etc Etc.....

Time of your life?
Will be The Donington Monsters Of Rock, Being Mc’s for the day entertaining 130,000 Rock Fans, in between the event we was interviewing the bands which was being filmed by MTV for our show and managed to capture the whole line up which included :- Iron Maiden, Kiss, David  Lee Roth, Megadeath, Guns ‘N’ Roses and Helloween.

All time biggest fuck up?
Has got to be when we was DJ’s for a gig in London with a band called Statetrooper and we was taking our road show which consisted of a coffin shaped console. We were running late, so we tied the road show on the roof rack with washing line. (Big Mistake)  As we was going  down the M1 the coffin came off and went straight in front of a truck, whom then jack knifed, and the next minute there was police all over 3 lanes of the motorway picking up debris.   We told police what it was, they did not believe us, and sent us on our way with a bollocking along with the truck driver.  We salvaged what we could for the gig, and got through it and that was the end of the Bailey Brothers Road show (the Coffin)
