Q & A with Loretta Carpenter! One of Rock`s “finest specimens” promised us that she would introduce us to all her girlfriends while being fairly intoxicated if we posted this interview & then we`d all go party at the Playboy mansion....Naaah.

Turns out she can also acutaly play with instruments, tequila, chinese food and dreams of experienced lovers that brings boxes of chocolate over etc...Well, the compromise at the office was that no-one get to meet her and we had to do the interview by mail. Surely she was worth the fight? Let`s find out!

How are you doing?
Crazy good and busy these days as always...

What are you doing these days?
Back in the studio working on an EP/CD, rehearsing the band and finishing my rock jewelry and clothing designs. Ha! Not too much, ya?

A normal day in the life of Loretta Carpenter?
First, strong ass coffee, hit the emails, run with the pup, and start up the music machine monster. Manage my own music career at this point. Being your own boss is a good thing.

Time of your life?
Performing is the big one for me. Going out with my hot girlfriends for a "crazy girls" night has ranked pretty high too. Playboy Mansion parties don't suck either.

Biggest fuck up?
Getting sidetracked with a dysfunctional relationship that kept me from my goals, temporarily. I also tend to "disappear" when I'm hard at work getting things going. Doesn't go over well with some. I really just want to come out and say "Hey, I made you proud now right?" I sometimes forget true friends love you no matter where your at in your life. Just some crazy attitude I can't shake.

Favourite food?
Chinese (no MSG, gives you headaches) and authentic Mexican after a long night ;)

Drink?
Silver Patron tequila and a really good red wine.

On the stereo?
It's never easy for me to answer; I just go by whatever hits me at the time. There's so much out there.
Love a mix of hard rock. Slip Knot, Disturbed, Rob Zombie, Aerosmith, Motley Crew, Nickelback, HIM. On the flip side, Anastasia, Sass Jordan, and yes, some Lady Gaga.

On screen?
Movies: currently Clash of the Titans. Also, Matrix, City of Angels comes to mind.
Don't watch much TV. Ok; Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, UFC, Rock of Love. Wow; there's some reality for you. Ha!

Sports?
Mainly basketball and some football. l liked Bo Jackson because he did several sports quite well; baseball and football. I did play sports growing up. Baseball actually; shortstop.

Tattoos?
I have one I designed myself that tells a story about who I am. It's also tied to my American Indian heritage. I feel people should get a henna one done first and wear it for a week. Then, get it done if you still dig it. Also, make it personal; design it yourself.

Sex?
Love it with a knowledgeable lover; who doesn't! People have to remember though; sex is 80% mental or more. With men, visual is a big one of course. Love being and feeling sexy and turning people on. I say people, because I get woman approaching me as much as men sometimes.

Drugs?
Tried some milder ones back in the day; don't need them, don't dig them. I am all about freedom and health and drugs take away that. Seen it ruin some people close to me.

Rock`n Roll?
The core of life! It's an instant energy, feel good rush. Addicted to that!

Groupies?
Mixed emotions about that. I guess the music biz needs them and so do the musicians ;) Makes for some good rockumentaries.

Transport?
My new BMW M3-hard top retractable convertible. Little bad rocket! I grew up with my dad being a race car driver and an editor of car magazines in California so it run's in the family.

Best live concert?
Metal Mayhem festival with Slipknot and Disturbed. Got to meet Joey, Jim Root and Cory from Slip Knot and the guys from Disturbed too backstage. Took pix, the whole sha bang. I was with the guys from Journey (Deen Castronovo and Neal Schon) at the time as they were touring around too. Slip Knot said they rehearse to Journey songs. What a crack up.

Best rock`n roll memory?
Van Halen. It was my first concert. I knew at that moment it was what I "had" to do. Being on a stage performing rock. The other stories I have would take too long-ha!

Vice of choice?
Good wine, silver patron margaritas, good semi-dark chocolate (Belgium) and once in a while a puff on a great cigar. Got to party it up once in awhile and unleash the beast too. Good for the soul. Horror movies I dig too.

Who do you respect the most?
Self-made, accomplished people who have remained kind hearted, kept a good sense of humor and have stayed humble but also know how to enjoy their success!

What do you appreciate the most in your friends?
Loyalty, honesty and hanging in there with me regardless.

What does your friends appreciate the most in you?
My heart and my upbeat, positive attitude. My ability to laugh, passion and drive. I am fighter, no doubt.

State of the world today?
Same problems, much grander scale. Technology is moving so fast and like anything, it has it pro's and con's. It's really a matter of who controls what. Corruption and greed still are the motivation behind most political parties world wide. Organized chaos and un-organized chaos. Mental unity and more tolerance would be a good thing.

What will we see & hear of Loretta Carpenter in 2010?
Live shows. It's what I really love the best about this music biz. I want to be successful because I want to take care of the people who are taking care of me. The band, the fans, the friends. I never feel 100% complete until I am doing this. I will have a rock jewelry line coming out and some clothing this year too. I designed my tour merchandise along with my website, soon to launch. Love designing and graphics.

I am proud to say I designed some of Journey's CD art from the "Revelation" record (which I also named) and designed their site too. But don't ask me to do any of yours out there; too busy getting my career up and going now ;).
